Fred Richards Planter '09

Here are images taken today of the 2009 Fred Richards planter, installed by the Normandale Club. The area consists of four uneven quadrants with a flagpole surrounded by Stella d'Oro daylilies. Due to wind, heat, and rabbits there were a number of substitutions after the initial planting (it was meant to be deep purples, chartruese, and pale pinks against green). There is alternanthera dentata 'Purple Knight', iresine herbst 'Purple Lady',  geranium 'Black Velvet Appleblossom', ornamental millet 'Purple Baron', zinnia 'Green Envy', coleus 'Fishnet Stocking', and a yellow coleus 'Fairway series.' Much of the plant material was grown from plugs donated by Wagner's Greenhouse. For plant details, see the EGC Catalog. Photos taken on 09/07/09.
